On Saturday December 10th, from 15.30 on, Alberto Casiraghy will spend some time with us. We will take the chance to chat and print together using the old Bonvini machines.
Alberto is a poet, a printer, and a publisher who published more than 10,000 titles with EDIZIONI PULCINOELEFANTE to date.
Every small book is printed on hand-cut high quality paper.
Texts are written with movable typefaces and are embellished by the woodcuts from Alberto’s collection.
Every object is printed in a few dozen copies, then sewn, hand-bound and adorned with a small piece of art.
You are more than welcome to join us.
Fratelli Bonvini Milano 1909
Welcome to this place, born over a century ago. A historical workshop located in Milan where stories of paper, ink, typefaces and human faces have come together. This place was about to disappear but we managed to save it together with a group of friends, to renovate it carefully, and to return it to the city. We reopened the Fratelli Bonvini stationery and typography shop one year ago, and in this brief time, it has already grown rich in stories, networks and relationships. The special thing about places with a history like this is that no matter how small they are, they represent the deep caves of a tradition that is still alive in the present and will resonate in the future.
